My passion for darts began in 2019 when I was just nine years old — the year Michael van Gerwen defeated Michael Smith to win the PDC World Darts Championship. Watching that final inspired me to pick up my darts and start my own journey in the sport.
Since then, I have dedicated myself to improving my game. In July 2024, I joined my local darts academy, Essex Arrows, where I train and compete regularly. My first competitive tournament was at school in January 2025. Nerves got the better of me at first, as it was my first major competition, but it was an important learning experience.
After a few challenging moments, I grew in confidence and performed strongly in Foundation Tour Phase 2. I finished ranked 18th out of 200 players, achieving one semi-final and three quarter-final appearances.
I practise every day and attend my academy weekly, where I compete against 15 of the top players. This season, I reached Finals Night and achieved second place — one of my proudest achievements so far.
I enter as many local competitions as possible and have recently started competing in ADC (Amateur Darts Circuit) Vault events, where I have also performed well. Each competition gives me valuable experience and helps me continue improving.
My dream of becoming a professional darts player drives me to put in the hours of practice that I genuinely enjoy. I am committed to competing as often as possible to develop my skills and gain experience at higher levels.
My inspirations are Joe Cullen and Josh Rock, whose dedication and success motivate me to keep pushing forward.
Receiving the Inspirational Award would play a huge part in helping me achieve my goals. It would support competition entry fees and travel expenses across the UK, and give me the opportunity to compete in Gibraltar later this year.
