Ollie Edgington

Musician
Inspirational Award
2022

The DRF are pleased to announce that an Inspirational Award has been made to talented musician Ollie Edgington.

Ollie first got into music seven years ago following an obsession with Guitar Hero.   He told us” That once I discovered Metallica, I put down the controller and picked up a guitar, and it’s been my life ever since. I spent every day on Skype to my best friend teaching me to play like James Hetfield before learning with a teacher and quickly realising my ability to learn rapidly. Since then, I’ve built up my portfolio, learning bass, drums, piano and mixing skills.

From here, I began my obsession with writing and over the past five years, I have been writing songs and now have 68 registered tracks. Two years ago, my band ‘Myopia’ released a self produced album called ‘Living on Sixes’ and now we are beginning to work on our second album.

I have been struggling to raise the funds to help with opportunities to take this album to the next level, and so I am honoured to accept this award with the knowledge that this allows me to work with the right people, enabling me to advance to the next step in getting my career started.”

Myopia are developing quite a following, and will be performing once again at this year’s “Rock up for Randall”.

The DRF are happy to support Ollie on his journey into the music industry, and will be following his progress with interest.
