The Trustees were very impressed with the dedication that Olly showed last year in his pursuit of playing tennis at a higher level in Learning Disability Tennis, and are delighted to be able to reward him with a full Scholarship this year.

On receiving notice of his Scholarship, Olly said “I am really pleased to be one of your scholarships this year and hope to make the Foundation proud.

My next hope is that I am selected by the Lawn Tennis Association for the World Tennis Championships to be held in Kazakhstan in May. I hope to find out at the end of February.

I am working hard at my tennis and fitness and getting ready for this tournament. After this event, I will also be trying my very best at two regional tournaments:- Gosling in March and Essex in May, so that I can qualify for this summer’s Wimbledon Learning Disability event and the Queens Grass Court event.

The funding from the Scholarship will allow me to have personal training sessions to improve my strength, fitness and endurance and to buy new tennis shoes.”

The DRF will be following Olly’s progress with interest and wish him all the very best in his endeavours.
