“This award will ensure I am competing with the highest-performance equipment to support my long-term dream of representing Great Britain in Archery at the Olympic Games one day. I work hard throughout the year across both the indoor and outdoor seasons, and I am determined to make the Foundation proud. Having this new equipment will make a significant difference to my performance and development.
I started archery at the age of eight when I went shooting with my dad. I asked to have a go and have loved the sport ever since. By the age of ten, I was selected by Archery GB for the Pathway Academy and have been coached by an International Pathway Coach since then. Over the years, I have worked extremely hard, managing developmental growth stages and overcoming injuries to remain competitive in every age group I have competed in. I am currently the Under 16 National Champion for Great Britain in both indoor and outdoor disciplines.
At present, I am training with the Archery GB National Age Group Academy and pushing myself to achieve my training goals so that I am in the best possible physical and mental condition to compete for youth international representation for Great Britain at the earliest opportunity. Last year, I was honoured to be named Suffolk Young Sports Personality of the Year, and now, having received the DRF Inspirational Award, I am incredibly proud and grateful for the recognition and support that will help me continue my journey.”
The DRF are delighted to support Hari and will be following his progress over the coming year with great interest.
