A Thank You from the Trustees Following Rock Up For Randall 2026
On behalf of the Trustees of the David Randall Foundation, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported Rock Up For Randall 2026.
Together, we raised an incredible £10,148, but more importantly, we brought our community together for a truly special day.
The David Randall Foundation exists to provide Good Days for people living with life-limiting illnesses. Days that create memories, bring joy, and give people in difficult circumstances something positive to look forward to. While Rock Up For Randall is an important fundraiser for the Foundation, it is also much more than that. Each year, the event is about providing local people with a genuinely good day of their own, bringing families, friends and the wider community together to enjoy sport, music, entertainment and each other’s company.
This year’s event was a perfect example of that. In many ways, Rock Up For Randall embodies David’s legacy. Sport and music were two of David’s greatest passions and talents, and it feels fitting that people continue to come together in his name to enjoy both. Seeing children playing cricket, performers entertaining the crowds and families making memories together is exactly the kind of community spirit that Rock Up For Randall was created to celebrate.
We were also delighted to welcome our Patron, Sir Alastair Cook, who kindly joined us to present certificates to the children taking part in the cricket tournament. It was a wonderful moment for the young players and one that added something extra special to the day. We are incredibly grateful for Sir Alastair’s ongoing dedication to and support of the David Randall Foundation. His commitment to our work means a great deal to us, and we are very fortunate to have him as our Patron and champion of the charity.
To every volunteer who gave up their time to help plan, set up, run and clear away after the event, thank you. Your dedication and hard work are what make events like this possible.
A special thank you goes to Maldon Cricket Club and its volunteers for their continued support, generosity and hospitality. We are incredibly grateful to have such a fantastic venue and team behind the event.
Thank you to all of our performers who kept the crowds entertained throughout the day, every player, coach, and parents involved in the cricket tournament, all of the stallholders and local businesses who supported the event, and everyone who donated raffle prizes, auction items and funds.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to 3 Diamond Events for sponsoring the Raise a Glass for Randall Cups and to Steve and Andrea from Lloyds for match funding our raffle. Your support helped make an important part of the day possible and is greatly appreciated.
Finally, thank you to everyone who attended. Whether you played cricket, entered the dog show, bought a raffle ticket, bid in the auction, enjoyed the music, volunteered your time or simply came along to support, you helped make Rock Up For Randall another tremendous success.
