The DRF was excited to hear from Ariana regarding her recent achievements.
She wrote:-
“I recently received the result of my Grade 8 violin exam, which I took earlier this year, and I’m delighted to have achieved a distinction. For the exam, I performed four pieces: an unaccompanied movement from a Partita by Bach, followed by three accompanied works—Haydn’s Violin Concerto, Monti’s Czardas, and my personal favourite, Amy Beach’s Romance.
The exam lasted around half an hour, and I thoroughly enjoyed both the performance itself and the process of preparing such a varied programme of music. My mum accompanied me on the piano, which was especially helpful, as it allowed us to rehearse extensively together at home and carefully shape how we wanted each piece to sound.
I am now enjoying learning the Bruch Violin Concerto and beginning to prepare repertoire for my Diploma exam”.
Sounds like a perfect arrangement – Congratulations Ariana
