Scholarship News – Olly

“I have just returned from the Australian Open in Melbourne, and am pleased to let you know that I won the men’s doubles tournament there with my doubles partner Archie (who is from Australia).

We won all three doubles matches and in our final beat the world number 1 pair from the UK 6 3, 6 2. Archie and I had never played together before!

This is my first ever international championship trophy!

I struggled a bit more in the singles and came 4th overall losing the 3rd/4th play off in a close match on a championship tie break.

The weather is Melbourne ranged from 45 to 19 degrees in the 8 days I was there, but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment.

This is an excellent finale to Olly’s Scholarship Year.
