Sarah wrote to the DRF recently to share some her recent achievements.

• Getting into the Essex Youth Orchestra and the Essex Young Symphony Wind Orchestra is a huge achievement. Clearly the audition went really well, and they must have seen a lot of potential and skill in her playing.

• And even though the National Youth Orchestra didn’t offer a full place this time, being selected for National Youth Orchestra Inspire is still very impressive.

• Sarah says she can feel the improvement in her flute playing.  That kind of self-awareness is so valuable as a musician.

• And making her first working reed is a milestone moment. The process of making reeds can be so frustrating, so getting one to actually work is a real win. The good ones come with practice and patience, so she is well on her way.
