Scholarship News – Olly

Olly has just returned from the world event held in Astana, Kazakhstan where he represented Team GB.  It was his first experience of Kazakhstan and found everyone to be hospitable and helpful, with an excellent indoor tennis centre.

He said “I worked really hard and am delighted to share that I’ve brought back 3 silver medals – men’s singles, men’s doubles and the men’s team event!   Team GB excelled with the men’s singles and doubles being all British finals.

One day I played five hours of tennis, including a very tough quarter final against a French player lasting 2 1/2 hours and won it on a championship tie break 10-7.

The fitness training really helped and made all the difference in a very tight match.  So thank you again for all of your support”.
