Scholarship News – Olly

News reaches the DRF that Olly recently participated in the Gosling LD Regional Tournament and won gold and silver medals in both the singles and doubles, meaning that he has now qualified for the Play Your Way to Wimbledon competition in August.  This competition provides players of all ages and abilities with the exciting opportunity to play on the iconic grass courts at Wimbledon where players have the chance to have their own, unique, Wimbledon experience.

Olly told us ” I won all three matches for singles and doubles. The last doubles match was tough and we were 5-1 down but got it back to 6-6, and then won the tie break 7-5, coming from behind also in the tie break!”

He has also been selected to play for Great Britain in Kazakhstan at the Virtus World Tennis Tournament in May, and is currently focusing on lots of tennis and fitness training.
