Defibrillator Installation

20th August 2022

The David Randall Foundation have today installed their first sponsored Automated External Defibrillator (AED) outside Costcutters on Maldon’s Poets Estate in Dryden Close.

Neil Foster, Trustee of the foundation said “2022 sees our tenth anniversary and to commemorate we have embarked on some special projects to expand the scope of the charities work. The first is to supply and install a number of life saving Defibrillators around the Maldon District.

There has been quite a focus over recent years on these pieces of equipment, with them mainly being installed at sports and social venues thanks to the efforts of charities such as the Daniel Wilkinson Foundation and the JE3 Foundation.
DRF are keen for these defibrillators to also be available for the wider community and placed within residential developments, where they can impact and benefit a large number of households.

The defibrillators will be registered on the emergency services national database, who advise callers as to the nearest location. Once at a defib site they will then  provide the caller with access details for the coded cabinet and instructions in how to use”

If you are a shopkeeper or have commercial premises within a residential development and would like to explore the possibility of housing an AED at no cost to yourself, please get in touch at neil@davidrandallfoundation.org
