15th August 2017
With under two weeks until this years Rock Up for Randall on Sunday 27th August, planning is at an advanced stage and we can promise you another fabulous day. The sun has been booked and we have lots to entertain you.
We will come to the Cricket and Live Music in a bit but first let’s tell you what you can expect in our sideshow area this year. For the youngsters we have two inflatables together with a childs ride. For the more adventurous we have a ‘Last Man Standing’ ride and for the really macho we have our brand new ‘Hang Tough’ Challenge.
Alongside those are some old favourites such as ‘Win the Contents of the Booze Trolley’ as well as Splat the Rat and the Tombola.
All of that exercise should make you hungry/thirsty and we have that covered too! Firstly the (in)famous Maldon CC BBQ team are on hand from 10am -4pm and we have a Chilli Supper between 5-7pm. Our Tea and Home Made Cake stall is back once again and we have been promised some fabulous cakes. We have a Cocktail and Mocktail Bar as well as the licenced bar and Mrs Salisbury’s are once again selling delicious Milk Shakes and possibly even waffles! We even have a sweets stall too!
One of the highlights of RUFR is always the awesome Auction and Raffle and this year is no different. Over the next week we will be sharing with you some of the unusual and incredible items we have.
As for the Cricket and Music that David loved so much….. Well we start at 9.30am with a 20 team Kwik Cricket Festival and then at 1pm we have a challenge match between a Maldon XI and Felsted Robins.
Musically, we are delighted to welcome at lunchtime the Funky Voices Choir that will gladden your heart. Early evening will see the fantastic Ben White and his band perform for your pleasure and then late into the night, the fabulous 6 String Makeover will rock your socks off! We are hoping that a mid afternoon act will also be added. We are so so grateful that all these acts perform for us without cost.
So hopefully there is something there for everyone. Please bring your family and friends. Entrance is by throwing some money in a bucket at the gate and parking is free.
See you there! (Don’t forget to book the babysitter for the evening!!)
