ANNOUNCEMENT – Scholarships and Inspirational Awards for 2023
As is traditional on David’s birthday, the DRF are pleased to make the following awards for 2023:-
Scholarship
Marcus Thornton – Power Lifter
Last year Marcus was awarded an Inspirational Award, and following his success in becoming the 2022 Under 18 World Champion, the DRF have awarded Marcus a full Scholarship for 2023. He is striving for selection in Team GB and to compete internationally.
Inspirational Award
Edeigh Irvine – Dancer
This is Edeigh’s second Inspirational Award, and will help fund her trip with Team England when they travel to Portugal in July for the Dance World Cup.
Inspirational Award
Danny Lancaster – Ice Skater
The DRF will be supporting Danny with new skates and providing extra ice-time which will enable him to extend his practice and pursue his passion for skating. He will be competing at a more advanced level this year than ever before.
